The Diagnostic Radiology residency program at the University of Missouri offers exemplary graduate training in all areas of diagnostic radiology, including neuroradiology, interventional radiology, CT, ultrasonography, nuclear medicine, and MRI, as well as bone, chest, GI/GU, mammography, and pediatrics imaging. The primary clinical institution is University of Missouri Health Care, but residents also rotate through Ellis Fischel Cancer Center and Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' hospital. The emphasis in all of our teaching services is to provide a, hands-on educational experience and maintain a faculty-to-resident ratio of approximately one to one.

Residents completing our program are well-versed in all areas, providing them options of either seeking employment in private practice or continuing their academic training as a fellow. We expect the residents to exhibit competence not only in interpretation of examinations, but also in the performance of radiographic procedures, including angiography, myelography, angioplasty, percutaneous biopsy, and drainage procedures. We encourage research by our residents and provide an educational fund to enable residents to attend conferences and seminars. As part of the educational process, residents are required to attend conferences twice a day. There is an intensive physics preparation during the summer months and several intradepartmental conferences involving pathology, chest, and neurology.
